How do I remove a burn mark on a wood table?

Basically, I dropped a coal on my wood kitchen table which left a quarter size black dot. I don't know much about wood tables. I really couldn't even say what kind of wood it is..haha but if there are any ways to make it noticeable, hearing them would be lovely.
