Should i be mad at my dad for this?

Ive had a chihuahau for about a year now after many incidents with other dogs, he was defininitly the one! A very good dog, except sometimes made accidnets in the house. Im only 15 but he was for sure a one person dog. He followed me around and was very protective. I loved him! Well my dad made me get rid of him because me and my stepbrother were wrestling and my stepbrother hit me kinna hard, & my dog (Bruiser) bit him in the face because he thought that he was hurting me. He drew the blood under his eye. & the same day when my dad was angry at me for something Bruiser started to attack him and wripped the bottom of his pants because he was yelling at me. My dad made me get rid of him. Should i be mad at my dad? Or is it a reasonable explanation and should i just forgive him and move on?
